To Be or Not To Be....FAMOUS!!!

It's crazy ain't it.

We normal people seem to always have that one friend (okay maybe 2 or more), who always seems to have the flashiest clothes/accessories, gets everyone's approval i.e. people always telling them how good they look in their newest outfit or how cool the latest thing they did was. There's also the ever constant barrage of attention they seem to be getting from the ladies.

Dont get me wrong, i do get some attention from some ladies, but maybe not in the same calibre, or even if they were, they'd be very few in-between. The straw that broke the camel's back for me was when I was out with my friend 'Michael' - we'll be using anon. names to protect the 'innocent'. Anyway, Michael and I both work in the same job, he actually helped me get that job, come to think of it, he's helped me alot since i knew him.

We both got up for a staff meeting 8.30am this meeting (who the F**K but our manager sets a staff meeting so early on a freakin saturday). And as we were both working later on in the day with the meeting lasting about an hour, we had time to kill in the shops and around the town. Hanging around Michael when he's shopping makes you pull out ur laser card faster that John Wayne pulls out them pistols in the old western's, getting stuff u knew u'd hold off for when on sale, if it were just u shopping.

I dont know if it was just me, but going around town, i realised he kept getting stared at by girls/women, maybe i got my fair share of stares, but i musta missed em cos i kept watching them stare at him while i raged a lil bit inside. Yes, i admit it, i was a lil bit jealous. Making it worse, he keeps bragging about his style, talking about which girl he's ignoring today cos their too clingy, the current love-of-his-life (the last one got knocked up btw lol, NO SERIOUSLY, by him). Now i'm not the type to brag about who's chasing after me even when im lucky to get one/two after me but he just kept going on and on about it, that i felt my stomach growl in faint jealousy cum anger...or maybe twas just d steak&cheese subway i just had for brekkie.

Then, to top it off, the current love of his life, 'Ade-ola', was just coming back from outta town, so i decided to accompany Michael as part of the welcoming committee.

BAD IDEA.

She came of that bus looking as sweet as ever, perfectly rounded behind, in sexy heels, braided hair and red jeans. I'd never wished i was in a relationship with someone so badly - but just for a split second. I play it cool like its no big deal, but she looks sooo sweet. She gives me a hug...Happy New Year she says, i mumble an incoherent reply and just keep staring...

...So im back home now looking back on the pattern of things in general, my relationship with Michael, how he hooked up the 1st love-of-his-life, how i also wanted her soo bad too then, but he made the first move, how he just 'acquired' this current one and how i was still trying to make up my mind whether to make a move or not, while my homie had gone ahead and laid his foundation. Not to make excuses, but looking at it, both girls had probably already made up their minds that he was soo cool and fell head-over-heels in (gawd i hate using this word) love with him.

Yeah, it definitely IS a bunch of excuses, if i made my move first i'd be the one she sends those sweet texts to, that make me soo angry that Michael's getting them now(What's worse, he keeps showing me the damned texts and i cant do shit about it but smile and nod in mock approval/admiration). Oh, im a strict disciple of the guy code, i'd never go behind a good friend's back and make moves on his girl - NEVER!!! But i still wish it was me.

Opportunity will knock once again, but what's bothering me is, should i start dressing like him, behaving like him, buying top-up for chicks, talking wif them for hours til 4am? I need my beauty sleep hehe! Or should i just stay the way i am? Be me and let the girls come to me? Or probably even better, just be a lil more pro-ative when i see a chick i like....but there's soo many of em.

So that's the point/question my whole parable up to this point has been about, To Be or Not To be FAMOUS....like Michael.

JAY-Z[Part 1]

Ha! My Maan....That's what Denzel Washington would say, i love that phrase.
Jay-Z truly is my man. I'm a BIG fan of Jay and no im not his biggest fan, to any one that says that - its total B.S.; u think u know all his lyrics? Someone else knows his lyrics and movements, u think u know those two too? Someone else out there in this biG, BIG world, knows his lyrics, movements and can imitate his voice too. Its a losing battle...hehe

I had that proved to me at his concert in Dublin early this month, July 2008/or late last month i cant really remember. €72 i didnt really have but it was worth every last cent. Ok i was a lil' bit disappointed that the show didnt go on for 3 hours lol, but we'd all probably have to pay thru the nose for that kinda time with a mega-star.

Waited 5 hours in the rain, took the 9am 4-hour bus from Letterkenny, landed Dublin around 1pm[the show was for 6pm but i wanted to be right UPFRONT! :-) ], searched like crazy for the show venue, found it, was disappointed that i was 2nd in line :-(, these guys had been waiting in the rain long before i got there! Met some other cool Jay fans, the organisers took pity on us an gave us a Portakabin to shield us from the rain. We swapped stories/jokes/awe-stories about Jay & other greats until we got bored, some more waiting in the rain and finally...

JAY-Z [Part 2]

....the organisers tell us they're pushing the concert forward AN HOUR! Gawd, after almost 6hours of mind-numbing boredom and polite chit-chat, i had to wait ANOTHER HOUR?

Anyways the queue is starting to lengthen, but not at all as long as i expected for a Jay-Z concert...I mean, its JAY-Z!! Some show-offs from the press arrive 30 mins to show-time and walk by our queue/security cos they've got press-passes...DAMN THEM! Then i hear some lady yellin down the mic and a band playing. Rehearsals. URGGHHH!! Estelle was opening for Jay
She became my worst enemy then. I keep cussing her out to everyone's chagrin. Just as they're about to let us in, some guy hands out Estelle's album release flyers.. i tell him to "SHOVE IT".

They let us in..."Dont RUN, or u'll be kicked out", they tell us, but people still hot-leg it to get the best view.

Monkey-see, Monkey Do hehe.

Some wack-ass white-boy DJ bores us with his scratches for about 20mins and Estelle comes on.
My my..does she have some stage presence, for some weird reason, Estelle and I kept making eye-contact until she points her finger at me as if to say "You, come up on stage". HA!!

Your boy didnt think twice about it, with the help of a bouncer i got up on stage and we started BUMPING AND GRINDING...NO JOKE!! The crowd went CRAZY!!! Funny enough, i wasnt really shy, i just did my thing and thanked her.

I was now a FAN hehe, i swore to everyone around me that i'd buy her album now, her songs sounded so much sweeter after that(must go get it whennext im downtown), but they just rolled their eyes. 15 more mins and Jay bursts outta nowhere and kills the show[img]http://www.websmileys.com/sm/cool/1237.gif[/img]

I look behind me and the concert hall is filled to capacity. He played some songs i didnt even know...i made sure i watched for the hand signals to his DJ & band he's famous for. I caught almost every single moment. He even pointed at me once trying to get me to look at his drummer's riff in the "Show Me What You Got" song. I'd actually planned and made Jay do that but thats a whole other story. His best buddy came out did their "secret handshake" which is kinda played out for me now...and did two songs. Memphis Bleek had a totally iced-out watch on him...i mean, not one teeny-weensy place on the watch that wasnt encrusted with white diamonds. V. Nice!

I tried alot to stand out from the crowd, e.g. when everyone was throwing up the Roc sign, i'd be the one with my hands down, i was secretly hoping he'd notice me and get me up on stage..so much for that wish. Anyway he rocked the crowd well, did that fake thing saying the show is over then comes back and gives the crowd a lil more then fades off. I still felt a lil robbed. Like i wanted a whole lot more, but hey he a busy dude, plus he probably had to leave for Glastonbury the next day anyway.

Twas an okay concert in all, was a bit disappointed though when i checked youtube and saw some of the stage effects he used in our concert, he'd used the exact same one last year in another concert. E.g. the one with Bono, hyping the crowd, comeon Jay, U are supposed to be the GREATEST! ah well...

For my first concert ever, it was a GREAT experience, THANKS JAY!

Deadly Moody

Moods

This shit has gotten me in sooo much trouble these past few weeks. Feels like I know i'm doing something wrong at the time but i just keep landing myself in trouble. My mood has "helped" me get fired, isolated my mum's best friend and family of over 20 years (tut...i even damage stuff that was there before i was born), pissed my mum off - who's a very forgiving and loving person by the way - and this same mood is probably what made my last girlfriend leave me.

Ah sure, when these "events" happen, in that particular moment, u think u are in the RIGHT, my boss wasn't meant to make me work that late i.e.12am, OR i told her i was gonna go out for awhile, why they all bugging? Mum calls that pride, i guess it is, my head tells me she's right but I just keep on doing it. She says to put it in my prayers bcos if i fear God, i wont disrespect others the way i do on a regular basis and end up chasing every one away from my life.....ahhhh, sometimes to do just that would be bliss!!

U see, im doing it again...whatever, i have put it to God, that He'd help me put it in my consciousness when "events" like before arrive so i'll handle them better and i really do hope i handle them better.

In all, i guess i'm just tired of feeling like im disappointing everybody...I'll be d first to admit u cant please everyone, but the pressure's just too much to smile when you're boiling like crazy inside, from lousy(and that's a kind word for him, u know who u are) senior employees to my parents to their friends and society in general.

Sometimes i feel like Biggie in Ready To Die...i probably shouldnt buy that album and listen to it, else....

Have u EVER done something this stupid?

Did something REAL stupid on Christmas day.

It all started when I pressed F10 on the blue screen as the MS Operating System was booting i.e. when the PC was starting up...the rest is an angry blur >>>

I wiped out all the information on my desktop....how  dumb can someone get. well i am that schmuck.

And cos I'm using WinXP, I also wiped out my user account too.

Now i had to go crawling back to every author, publisher(software and e-book), for duplicate links to copies of lost documents.   I even had to re-install everything in MSOffice.  Aaahh! The days when my nerdy eastern european friend Andrehs preached to me about the wisdom of portable hard-drives. I mocked him like the Israelites(or was it the jews?) mocked Jesus. Now i could only bite me tongue, strap my tail between my legs with heavy extra-duty Sellotape and beg him for all the wonderful programs he gave me for free once.

I dont still have a hard-drive, still a bit outta my reach about $400 something  for a reliable one, but i'll get there.

A nice lesson learnt there today!

When is the best time to come fishing in Alaska?

- Part 1
Picking the perfect date is difficult for the life-long Alaskan guide much less the person planning their once in lifetime fishing trip!

I will attempt to pass on to you the information that I have compiled over a lifetime of fishing the kenai Peninsula and hopefully it will help you in picking your date. Continue...

When is the best time to come fishing in Alaska? Pt 2

Depending on the variety of fish you're "fishing" for:

First Run King Salmon: This run begins in mid May and continues through the month of June. I have historically found that the 3rd week of June to be the peak of this run , however the peak can vary from 1 week earlier to 1 week later. This is not to say that we do not well throughout the whole month just that the 3rd week has historically been the peak.(average size 35 lbs)

First Run Sockeye Salmon: These fish begin to make their way up river about mid June. The first run of Sockeye Salmon heads straight through the Kenai to the Russian River located in the Cooper Landing area of the upper Kenai. Therefore the Russian River is far and beyond the best and sometimes the only place to nail these first run fish.(average size 5-7 lbs)

Second Run King Salmon: This run of king Salmon start upstream July 1 and continue through July 31st. Historically the 3rd week of July is the peak for these fish but like the first run it can also be one week either direction.(average size 40 lbs)

Second Run Sockeye Salmon: The second run Sockeyes start to enter the river mid July and run through the first week of August. This run is about 10 times the size in numbers of the first run. These fish are caught from the bank from one end of the Kenai to the other! The second run Sockeye is what most Alaskans fill their freezers with.(average size 8-12 lbs)

Early Run Silver Salmon: These fish start arriving in late July and continue through August. I have found that the peak seems to be around the 15th-25th.(average size 8-14 lbs)

Late Run Silver Salmon: This run starts in the begginning of September and runs through the end of the month. The peak seems to be Sept. 15th-31st . (average size 9-16 lbs)

Rainbow Trout: The hard fighting Kenai River Rainbow are in the river throughout the year. The primetime for fishing these Trout though is mid August- the first week of October. The later the season gets the fatter these fish become with one or two caught every year in the 15 lb or larger bracket! (average size 2-8 lbs)

Cook Inlet Halibut: These Cook Inlet flat fish are readily available mid May - September The one thing to remember is after late August the water gets rougher and we have more trips cancelled due to blow-off conditions.(average size 20-60 lbs)

Other Things To Consider:
1. The Kenai River is closed to guides on Sunday and Monday in May , June and July. (making for usually better than normal fishing on Tuesday mornings)
2. The Kenai River is closed to guides taking Silver Salmon on Mondays in August and September. (however we are allowed to fish for Trout on these days)
3. The first day of bait is always the hottest during King season , picking the exact day is difficult though as Fish & Game opens bait according to their escapement numbers.
4. Weekdays ie: Tues-Fri are sometimes slightly better than weekends.

Alaska Fishing Trips

Alaska is the perfect place in the world to have the fishing experience of a lifetime. With an infinite number of fishing resources, Alaska is the location to go to fish for rainbow trout, king salmon or halibut.

Alaska fishing trips assure a splendid fishing experience against the spectacular wilderness of the land.

When choosing where to go in Alaska, it is important to know the type of fish you are hoping to catch, because some species are region-specific. For example, if you are going on a fishing trip in Alaska and are looking to catch halibut, you should try and look for the fishing locales where halibut is known to reside. Ask the local population where this might be, and you will get some good tips.

The climatic conditions must also be conducive to the fish you are looking for. If you are fishing in the summertime, you may not be able to catch the same types of fish you caught last winter.

Again, ask around.

Southeast Alaska is popular for salmon, steelhead and halibut fishing. A great abundance of fighting fish is found in the Kenai River. Anchorage, Seward, Soldotna, Homer, the Kodiak Island of south-central Alaska, Bristol Bay and the Kuskokwim River of southwest Alaska are prime fishing destinations. Lake Hood in Anchorage Alaska is famous for fly fishing.

No matter where or when you choose to fish in Alaska, be sure to pack all of the necessary supplies. In the cold winter months, you should dress extremely warmly. In other seasons, dress in layers so that the sudden shifts in temperature can be accomodated as you fish all day or over the course of a week or weekend.

Ratatouille - What the Hell!

What The Heck Is This World Turning Into?
Now rats should be allowed to cook for humans? Dont get me wrong, i got nothing against rodents, well 'cept when they're running over your legs in the dark and nibbling on every food item they can place their teeny paws on. Your clothing, your shoes, your paper and if you're unlucky enough, you may even get sewer rats which are far bolder and aggressive than the regular ones. But does that mean i'd SMASH any disgusting rodent that crossed my sight...? Naaahhh, i love God's creatures too much.....

Especially this wee fellow to the left here. Meet Remy, star of Disney's new blockbuster - Ratatouille(quite a mouthful).

Aaany way, last Monday, i was supposed to be gathering clients for the telephone company i work with, Imagine Telecoms (talk bout em another day), and after a few 'not-interested's' , i decided to cheer meself up at the local cinema, and picked the only movie that met my 3 very very scrupulous tests for watchability: 1. Longer than 90mins 2. Decent enuff plot 3. Not a cent over €5(five euros) and guess who won hands down...

You just gotta give it to those Disney Imagineer's being able to personify qualities we all aim for in a rat. The movie's centers around Remy, a normal rat with an exceptional tongue. Refuses to eat the garbage the rest of his family devours, not that he's snotty, i guess he was just programmed differently from the rest of the pack. Remy dreams of becoming a great chef like his hero Gusteau with his famous catchphrase:
'Anyone can cook',

If ur feeling blue --- this'll lift ur spirits, TRUST ME!

All i can say is just watch this - u'll find urself laughin for no good reason!

Kleptomanic Spider(hehe!)

Funny documentary i just saw on the RTE Two channel an hour ago, just had to say something about it cos i found it a bit amusing.

Started watching the documentary late so i only caught them when they were talking about how spiders spin their silk webs in perfect symmetry...twas really amazing to see considering the fact that spiders have brains far smaller then peanuts!

Anyway, the Nephila spider aka the Golden silk orb-weaver makes incredible webs in an eye-popping process that u only have to see to appreciate. These spiders take at least an hour (well, according to documentary guy) to spin webs that can fit the space an adult makes when he/she spreads their arms fully apart!

Now for the kleptomaniac part - as most people know, spiders feed by spinning sticky webs and when insects ie bees, flies etc fly into and get stuck in the web.
When a bee gets stuck in a web, it tries to set itself free by vigorously flapping it wings causing vibrations on the web. These vibrations travel all the way up to the center of the web to the spider's legs. The spider feels these vibrations and pulls on a few strings of the web in the general direction of shaking insect to pin-point the exact position of its prey, then starts its menacing crawl towards it...reminds me of a spiderman episode where spidey was the prey.

Stay with me now, then this little fella: the Argyrodes(arr-gee-ro-dees) aka the dewdrop spider - a sly one at that - sees an insect struggling on the Nephila's web, gently tiptoes towards the insect(it's mass is so light that the nephila cant pick up the vibrations), wraps it up in its own silk web and steals off with the nephila's food. HAHA! talk about SNEAKY!

I especially loved the part when the klepto-spider was feasting on the neph's food and the neph was left looking clueless when it got to the place where it thought it food was - not soo funny now that i think about it, but what the heck...

That's my rant for today!

Creating money doing nothing?

Its crazy how powerful this intangible thing called "the internet" has become.
In the '80's, mankind barely knew how to work PC's and Mac's, talk more of IMing(that's another internet slang for 'chatting' if some old folks out there dont know, lol) to someone else on the other side of the globe....pause to ponder that again, scary ain't it?

Talking about scary, another thing that's a bit scary is the way internet millionaire's are popping up from every corner of the world nowadays - i intend to be one of them by the way - and making loads of money(not necessarily millions, but decent amounts) has never been SOO EASY.

Imagine making money by just writing whatever u feel like in your online diary, whoddathunkit?
Am i hearing someone - "there must be a catch somewhere", well yeah, to make flimsy money,
you can just post whatever u like on ur blog and hope for the measly cents that come your way(which u rightly deserve!).

On the flip side, if you are looking to make BIG BUCKS like me(muahahah!) - forgive me but i couldnt pass up that chance - with your online diary/blog, one sure route is thru Google Adsense. You see the ad's by google on the right and top of my blog, this is an advertisement service created by google to help website owners(aka webmasters) promote their websites, products etc. And as with most effective forms of adverstisent, u have to pay a small fee for the privilege. So every advertiser pays a certain amount to Google every time someone clicks on those ads. And the kind people at google pay a nice percentage (of whatever the advertiser pays to them) to those on whose blogs'/sites' where u clicked on the ad. Here's how to make money:

Joel Comm (picture above), a very successful internet entrepreneur who has been in the game of making money on the internet since 1995, has been making 5-figure incomes from just blogging EVERY MONTH. Google his name to see i didnt just pull off some sucker's pic of the internet. He now wants to give out all he knows about making 5-figure incomes by just blogging for FREE!

Need i say more? I have the e-book myself and it has poured me income fromt he moment i started applying his strategies. I constantly learn something new as i go back and re-read the e-book. It's jam-packed with such immense info that i cant believe he gives it away for free.

Enuff talk now, TIME FOR ACTION!

Simpson's & Die Hard 4.0 Movie Reviews

I saw the Simpson's Movie and Die Hard 4.0 today. The Simpson's Movie was nice, but short enough. Nicely done by the producers. They got a feel for when people would get tired of a normally 20 minute program and made fake breaks in-between to make up for it. Shows they spent time workin on the story. But in the end it was just nice.

Die Hard was just that...DIE HARD! I loved that movie, i dont usually see a film twice in a short period of time but i can make an exception for this one. Action everywhere, with funny remarks that didnt turn out too cheesy or cliched. I'm not a good narrator and i'm not gonna spoil it for people who havent seen it yet but that film was BRILLIANT.

Today's Sunday, hopefully, i'll get to see the Transformers on tuesday...i'm really blowing money this week!.... I expect it to be as good as Die Hard 4.0 if not better 'cause i saw the making and a brief preview. I avoided all previews longeer than 2 minutes for the simpson's movie 'cause i knew the film would not be a standard-long film and the previewers have a habit of giving away the best parts of a short movie.

All in all, i enjoyed my day today. I'm now living life without regrets and smiling all the time.

I'll probably write more about why i am smiling so much another day. But for now, that was another day in my VERY interesting life.

Another Great Day

Planning is a great thing to do.

When u feel confused/lost about something, start planning something - it takes your mind off counter-constructive uses and focuses it on constructive stuff.

A mind focused like a laser-beam makes for one very intelligent human.

Strike Two!

The second posting, the novelty hasnt worn out yet.

My search (or should i say hunger) for freedom to not have to work for anyone has been eating at me for many years now. Joel Comme(an internet marketing expert) advised that i start by teaching myself copywriting by writing about myself.

This is great fun. Although i wonder how many others out there find the info for starting and growing a profitable internet business daunting. There's so much pressure to know very much if you want to succeed. But Derek Gehl (another internet marketing CEO) has taught me about the power of focus.

It's easy to go astray when searching for info on starting something online, but now i'll make sure to take things step by step and take each day as it comes.

Good Luck to ME!

Success, I took the first step

Success, i have taken the jump and started my own blog! The wise ones say: "A journey of a thousand miles begins with one footstep".

I hope this is the beginning of many successful jumps i'll take in my life.

Here's to more success and freedom to be and do whatever i want to do!
